Negotiation may look like the safer, and more reasonable option most of the time, but you absolutely need both the combat card drafts and the card experience if you're going to survive the boss combat. I had drink cards of course - it's Smith - but nothing focused on bottle generation.įight. ![]() In MTG terms I'd call them all hot messes, the sort of thing you cobble together from a Sealed Deck game where you don't have a lot of options.įor example, one of Smith's cards gave +6 damage if I had 6 empty bottles, but the only way I had of generating a lot of bottles in a hurry was the +6 bottle flourish. I don't think I built decks that had any particular synergy with any of the characters. Again, I was at near-full health at the end, though with Smith that's often expected because of Moxie regeneration. Try 3, I made a point of keeping enough money on hand for a healing meal, and somehow by the end of the game I'd built up an unstoppable juggernaut that had little trouble dealing with the boss. I just kept running low and health, and found myself without the funds to buy healing before the next combat. I died on day 2 to a regular encounter, and on the next run I died on day 1. Smith seems ludicrously overpowered in negotiation, but I had a hard time learning his combat. I had little difficulty winning the final combat. He's also much easier in combat than the other two. You eventually get so many ways to set the coin to whatever you want, it effectively becomes a mode switch. Toughest thing was understanding that the coin is only random in the earliest stages of the game. Try 3, I won and hardly took any damage doing it. Pengemunt carries himself with the tell-tale gait of an Aerostat officer. She looks young for an Admiralty officer of her rank, suggesting either competence or nepotism. Once, those who cared to know her stories were lulled to sleep with whispered ghost stories and lore. Mullifee's stern face has been hardened by age.
